About Dyer County News
Dyer County News is an independent news organization covering Northwest Tennessee, with an emphasis on Dyer and Lake counties and the surrounding Midsouth — Northeast Arkansas, Southeast Missouri and the Missouri Bootheel, and Western Kentucky.
Our focus is local accountability: county and city government, campaign finance, public records, courts, and the issues that affect residents day to day. We work from primary sources — disclosure filings, court documents, audits, and public datasets — and we publish the documents alongside our reporting so readers can see the evidence for themselves.
Who we are
We are a small team working on a volunteer basis with day jobs. Given the nature of some of the subjects we cover and the small-town environment in which we operate, we keep our bylines semi-anonymous. That does not change our standards: every claim is checked against the underlying record before we publish.
How we publish
This website carries our full stories. Breaking updates and story links also go out on our Facebook page. Dyer County News is free to read and supported by advertising — see our privacy policy for how ads and data work on this site, and our editorial standards for how we report and correct the record.
