DYERSBURG, Tenn. — Dyersburg police arrested Kristopher Anthony, 35, on a charge of vandalism over $1,000 on Sept. 30, the Dyersburg Police Department said.

The arrest followed a Sept. 28 prowler complaint on Highland Drive that was shared on social media, the department said. Police said the arrest resulted from an investigation into a vandalism complaint the next day on Fairway Drive involving about $5,000 in damage.

The department's Street Crimes Unit identified Anthony using a resident's video and prior law enforcement contacts, police said.

"I commend the officers of the Dyersburg Police Department for their investigation and the arrest of the suspect. Just as importantly, this case demonstrates how valuable the public's cooperation is to our officers. The timely reporting of these incidents and the video footage provided by the resident gave investigators critical information that helped move this case forward," Chief of Police Thomas Langford said in the release.

The release did not list a court date or bond information. A charge is an accusation, and anyone charged is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
