DYERSBURG, Tenn. — Mayor John Holden presented a proclamation Sunday to mark Drug-Free Week, city officials said. Holden read the document to Angel Dycus. She serves as executive director of Transitions of Dyer County. Events for the week began Sunday afternoon at 250 Youth Home Road.

Transitions helps women who face life-controlling problems, the city said. Its mission is "to nurture and disciple women who desire a new beginning through the life-changing power of Jesus Christ."

"We are thankful for this ministry and their positive impact they have on the lives of women," city officials said.
