DYER COUNTY, Tenn. — State road crews will close an interstate ramp and slow traffic on local highways this week, the Tennessee Department of Transportation said. Workers will close the ramp from westbound Interstate 155 to State Route 78 at Exit 13 during the week of Oct. 26 for concrete repairs. A signed detour will guide drivers around the ramp closure.
Work on State Route 211 will cause delays for Dyer County drivers, TDOT said. Crews are building a multimodal path between Samaria Bend Road and Horner Road that will require ongoing lane closures. The State Route 211 bridge remains closed for a bridge replacement project, with a signed detour in place.
Local drivers may run into slow-moving work zones across the county, state transportation officials said. Crews are repainting pavement markings on interstates and state routes throughout the area. Pavement testing will cause temporary lane closures on roads across the district.
"Drivers should never tweet, text, or talk on a cell phone while behind the wheel," the department said. Travelers can check road conditions and view live traffic cameras on the state SmartWay website or by dialing 511 before leaving home.
