Janette "Jan" Zimmermann

Mrs. Janette "Jan" Zimmermann, 92, of Dyersburg, TN died Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, retired from Dyersburg State Community College, served for 35 years with the Red Cross disaster relief, recipient of The Governor's Colonels Club for using Red Cross methods in saving a life, member of Giving Friends, Past President of the Pilot Club, former case worker with Department of Human Services, Girl Scout Leader, swimming instructor and in 1922 won the St. Louis Women's High Dive Championship. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 18, 2010 in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Dr. Phillip Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive visitors Wednesday, March 17th from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at Curry Funeral Home. Survivors include: 1 son, Kent Queensen Kreh and wife Dottie of St. Louis, MO, 2 daughters, Ronnie Jayne Alewel and husband Roger of Sedalia, MO, Lynn Lenore Fritchey and husband Bob of Dyersburg, TN; 1 sister, Mary Jane Nagel and husband Owen of St. Louis, MO; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman E. "Herm" Zimmermann, 1 grandson, Robbie Mann, 1 brother Louis Anthony Queensen, Jr., and her parents Louis Anthony and Jenny Burke Queensen. Pallbearers will be: Randy Alewel, Reed Alewel, Bito Mann, David Short, Wayne Karlgaard, Joe Enoch The family requests that memorials be directed to the Dyer County Chapter of the American Red Cross, PO Box 508, Dyersburg, TN 38025-0508.
