Martha was born September 7, 1927 in Humbolt, Tn to the late Lessie Johnson Faulkner and William Phillip Faulkner. She married William Roger McCoy on April 21, 1946. He passed away on December 8, 1992. She worked for many years at Lauderdale County Health Department. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ripley for 67 years where she served for many years in the Martha's Cupboard Ministry. She enjoyed volunteering in the Hospital League as well. Martha is survived by her son and daughter-in -law, John and Teresa McCoy of Troy, Tn and her nephew and his wife, Rick and Susan Riley of Rossville, Tn Grandchildren: Rachel McCoy (Chris) Jones of Holly Springs Ms., Kevin (Jenni) McCoy of Troy, Tn, Bill McCoy of Hawaii. Great grandchildren: Addison Sparks and Will Sparks of Arlington, Tn and Henry McCoy of Troy, Tn. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Mark McCoy and Roger McCoy, Jr., her sister Nell Maxwell and brother Billy Faulkner and niece Shirley Bobbitt. The family requests that any memorials be made to First United Methodist Church in Ripley. James Thomas Adams, 78, of the Bruceville Community, passed away Tuesday at his home after a prolonged illness. Born in Dyer County in 1943, he was the son of Ophelia Ann Adams, also of Bruceville. Surviving Mr. Adams are his wife of 40 years, Betty Broglin Adams and his four children, Timothy (Stacy) Adams, Randal (Monica) Adams, both of Bartlett, Tammy (Tommy) Ray, Deonna (Luis) Enochs, both of Bruceville, Lisa Daniels of Atoka, and a brother Danny (Karen) Adams, of Halls. He leaves 12 grandchildren (Justin, Cody, Crystal, Lauren, Stephen, Cameron, Jacob, Selena, Alyssa, Lane, Felton, and Sidney) and eight great-grandchildren (Kora, Eli, Bella, Sebastian, Ellie, Erin, Owen, and Callie) to further his memory. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his mother Ophelia and brothers Ed Adams, Billy Adams and sister Caroline Riddick. Also preceding him was a son, Kevin Adams, a niece Paige Beasley, a nephew, Robert Riddick and a great granddaughter, Abby Enochs. He served in the U.S. Army during the Cold War and after his honorable discharge from the military, he made his profession as a Master Tool and Die maker for Anderson-Hickey of Halls. Later he partnered with his wife to run a successful ceramic shop. He was a member of the Palestine U.M. Church. Visitation will be held October 26, 2022, from 4pm to 7pm at Halls Funeral Home 109 N. Church St. Halls TN. Funeral services held at 11am October 27, 2022 at Halls Funeral Home with Dr. Ricky Ray Officiating, with burial to follow at Palestine Cemetery.
