Photo of James Gregory Orman

James Gregory Orman

May 20, 1956 – February 23, 2022

Surrounded by family, the faith of James Gregory "Greg" Orman, 65, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, became sight on Wednesday, February 23, 2022.

He loved God and delighted to share not only the Good News, but his own life as well. (1 Thess. 2:8) Greg passionately sought to glorify his Savior in every area of life. He wanted everyone to know and love the Lord like he did. Not that he always walked with God perfectly, but having experienced the beauty of having his brokenness restored, Greg lived to see the lives of others renewed too. Greg's heart was to point others to the transforming love of Jesus Christ through acts of service. In addition to his family, Greg loved and served those who are often overlooked—children, widows and the incarcerated. Greg was also passionate about encouraging other men to be the best husbands, fathers and sons to their families—and continually strived to be better in these areas himself. Greg lived to leave a legacy of faith, love, service and excellence for His Lord and for everyone he knew.

Dr. Joe David Campbell

March 14, 1946 – February 14, 2022

The Tennessee Volunteers lost a lifelong fan and alumnus on Monday, February 14, when Dr. Joe David Campbell passed away after a hard-fought battle with heart disease and pancreatic cancer. Much like his beloved team who faced many a battle on the gridiron, Campbell came into the world a fighter and spent the last several years of his life taking on health issues while simultaneously “winning” when it came to family and fun. “Joe Joe”, as he was called by those who loved him, definitely put up his dukes.

Born March 14, 1946, in Greenfield, Tennessee, to the late Henry and Geneva Campbell, the future pharmacist spent his beginning years overcoming a club foot, which meant wearing braces. However, once he shed the corrective wear, he claimed his place on the playing field in sports, riding horses, and being an all-around teenager. Short in stature, he was steeled by a stubborn streak and strengthened by a mischievousness that showed up in the sparkle in his eye, questioning grin, and frequent laughter.

She is with her first love, Jesus, and reunited with her precious Big John, the love of her life, and her parents and siblings who she loved so dearly. There are not enough words to tell how much she loved the Lord and her family. Her constant prayer was for all to hear the gospel and know the love of her Jesus. She dedicated her entire life to His service and touched the lives of so many in her 98 years. She loved her decades of teaching Sunday school, prison ministry, and hosting weekly prayer meetings in her home for over 50 years. Her heart was gold, and now she is dancing on the streets of gold. Those who had the privilege of knowing her are forever changed by her love. What a legacy. What a heritage she has given us. What a beautiful life she led, filled with so much love. You can rest now, sweet Littie. Well done, good and faithful servant.
