Prior to his job at Colonial Rubber, Morris worked for West Suburban Transit Line for 10 years. Morris was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Fan and proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Steve was a dedicated husband, father and papaw.

Mrs. Lucille Gamble, as known to everyone as "Mama Lou", passed away at the age of 94 on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at her residence.

Mama Lou was born on May 29, 1926, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late, A.B. and Litha Miller Watson. She was a former employee with Dyersburg Fabrics, Colonial Rubber, Service America, Latimer Drug Store and Holmes Wrecker Service. Mama Lou was a beloved member of Three Oaks Chapel Baptist Church, where she was the Head Director of the Nursery Department. She helped raise many children and their children during the several years she worked at Kids World in Dyersburg. Mama Lou had been a lifetime member of Spring Hill Baptist Church and was a highly esteemed resident of Dyer County.

She is the daughter of the late James Arthur and the late Ninne (Swain) Palmer. She was a Caregiver for many years and loved her patients. Ms. Jeannie is survived by one daughter: Patsy (Ellis) Mize of Millington and three sons: Robert Darrel (Francis) Archer of Alamo, TN, Donnie (Zora Ann) Archer of Bells, TN and Dennis Archer of Liberty, TX. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Robert Leslie Archer a daughter, Janice Archer Beaird and a son-in-law Billy Beaird. Carthel Melford “Charlie” Chandler, 94, died March 12, 2021 at this residence. BornFebruary 9, 1927 in McNairy County, TN, he was the son of the late Gillis W. And Ida Mai Austin Chandler. Charlie was owner of Chandler Furniture in Dyersburg where he worked until the age of 90. He was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and a member of the chancel choir. He and Mrs. Chandler taught Sunday School and served as table leaders in Youth Club. He was also a member of the local Masonic Lodge and a charter member of the Forked Deere Chapter of Sons of American Revolution. Charlie proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was an avid jogger for many years.

A private entombment service was held at Fairview Cemetery.

He was a minister at the Church of Jesus Christ at 815 S. Main St. in Dyersburg, Pastored by Bro. Mickey Dodd. He served thirteen years in the Tennessee National Guard as an M.P. and Supply Sgt. He worked 23 years for the City of Dyersburg, some as Head of the Cemetery Department. He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed fishing and was known to be a "Jack of All Trades, yet Master of None".

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Becky Leslie McCaig, two daughters, Dee Graves (Mark) and Jessi Lomeli (Ricky), his granddaughter, Mattie Erin Graves, his sisters, Linda McCaig, Stella Crumbly & Mary Tibbs and his brothers Jimmy & Dennis McCaig. He and his brother, Danny McCaig both passed away together on Tuesday evening. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee & Rosie Eaton McCaig.

Howard Wayne (known to all as Wayne) was born near Dexter Kentucky on July 20th, 1941 to the late Paul Wilbur Burkeen and Treva Mae Burkeen. He grew up surrounded by family and friends in the Independence Community near Almo Kentucky. His mother often told the story that as a child, Wayne would say, "I love everybody". He carried this philosophy throughout the remainder of his life. He was known as a kind and loving man to all that he met. He loved his God and his family with all his heart. He attended the Independence United Methodist Church as a young child and was a member there for 49 years. He is currently a member of the Crockett Chapel Methodist Church in Tiptonville, Tennessee.

Knisel, and the late Marjorie Leon Harness Knisel. Mrs. Keeling loved children and spent countless hours at Jennie Bell School, volunteering to help with activities or whatever the need may be. She was a Girl Scout Leader. She received a Life membership in the Parent Teachers Association for her outstanding work with the school. She opened and directed Keelings Kiddie Kollege (Day Care Center) for 28 years. She cared for hundreds of children until her retirement.

Patricia Ann “Pat” Goodwin, age 78, of Dyersburg died February 10th, 2021 at her residence with her children and husband by her side. Born September 22, 1942, she is the daughter of the late Murray W. and Ann Lowe Blurton. She graduated in 1960 from Dyersburg High School where she played basketball and was a member of numerous clubs/organizations including the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority and the Beta Club. She then attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education (with Honors) in 1964 and then earned a Master of Arts in Speech Pathology at Northwestern University in 1965. She then pursued a 30 plus year teaching career specializing in speech pathology, diagnostics and special education including positions at the University of Tennessee, Memphis State University, the Shrine School for the Multiply Handicapped in Memphis, Memphis City Schools, the Military Schools in San Antonio, and Bryan Independent School District. Two notable gaps in her teaching career were 4 years (1977-1981) living with husband and children in the Republic of Mali (West Africa) and 2 years (1996-1998) living with her husband in Papua New Guinea. She loved to travel and visited more than 40 countries. She also enjoyed sewing, writing poetry, playing bridge, bird watching, and taking care of her pet cats and dog.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 12, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Dr. Mary Beth Bernheisel with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.
