He was a prominent farmer in the Bogota community and a dedicated member of the Calvary Chapel Baptist Church. Toby loved sharing his farming experiences, especially with the younger generation. Funeral services will be at the Calvary Chapel Baptist Church, Bogota, TN, Friday, April 29, 2016 at 2:00 pm with the Reverends Dennis Lemons and David Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in New Haven Cemetery, Ridgely, TN. Pallbearers will be nephews and great-nephews. JoAnn James, age 82 of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died Monday, April 25, 2016 at her home in Dyersburg. Born on Wednesday, December 13, 1933 in Gibson, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Lafayette Warmath and the late Mattie Brooks Warmath. She was a retired first-grade elementary school teacher. JoAnn graduated valedictorian from Gibson High School, Class of 1951. She attended UT Martin, graduating in 1955 with a degree in Home Economics with minor in Education. She taught first grade for 30+ years in Dyersburg, receiving Outstanding Teacher of the Year award on two different occasions. She retired from teaching in 1997. Over her 35+ years of teaching, we estimate she influenced approximately 1,000 young lives. JoAnn attended First United Methodist Church (FUMC), Dyersburg, where she was an active member for 52 years. She started the FUMC kindergarten program in 1966. She served on numerous FUMC service committees over the years, Homebound Communion being one of her most rewarding. Visitation will be Friday, April 29, 2016 from 9:00-11:00 AM at Dyersburg First United Methodist Church, 100 McGaughey Street, Dyersburg, Tennessee. Funeral service will follow at the church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ed White and Rev. Dell King officiating. Burial will be at Bethany Christian Church cemetery, 421 Bethany Road in Eads, Tennessee. Mrs. Hollingsworth was a retired school teacher that taught at various schools including, Sacramento, KY School, Ayers School, Richwoods School, Nauvoo School, Finley Elementary and Jennie Bell School. She was a 1945 graduate of Dyersburg High School. She also graduated from Union University in 1948 after completing her degree in three years. Mrs. Hollingsworth was a member of Ayers Methodist Church. She retired from teaching in 1975 to work full time with her husband and sons on the family farm, which was a very important part of her life until she passed away. She was a lifelong resident of the Ayers Community in Dyer County.

Gerald W. Ketchum, 66, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at his residence. Born May 9, 1949 in Dyersburg, he is the son of Jean Moody Ketchum Jordan and the late Charles Wilburn Ketchum. He was an attorney, graduating from Memphis State University School of Law, commuting at night, while working full time as a Dyer County Deputy Sheriff. Gerald was a graduate of Dyersburg High School, where he served as the first local president of Sigma Phi Omega Fraternity and later as the National President. He attended Ole Miss and graduated from Arkansas State University, where he was a member and President of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. While attending Ole Miss, he was the managing editor of the Daily Mississippian; the first morning paper in the county to proclaim Nixon as the winner in the Presidential elections. He was a former writer for the Dyersburg Mirror and was instrumental in the formation of the “Teen Page”. Gerald was very active in the Dyersburg community, serving as a Boy Scout Master and financial supporter; Independence Day Fireworks organizer and operator for over 20 years; Christmas parade organizer for 15 years; and county chairman for the local Dyer County Republican Party. He was a member and former 2 term Governor of the Dyersburg Moose Lodge and also served as Administrator for 7 years.

Charles" Chuck" Davis, age 64, of Halls died Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Jackson General Hospital of Jackson, TN. Chuck was born October 27, 1951 in Lauderdale Co., TN. He is the son of the late Harold Davis and the late Mary Frances (Long) Arwood. Chuck was a truck driver and a farrier for most of his life. He was also a member of the American Paint Horse Association. He is survived by one daughter: Mary Helen Fitzhugh of Halls, TN and one son: Charles M. Davis of Friendship, TN; brother of two sisters: Betty Jo Welborne of Greenfield, IN, Carol Lynch of Ripley, TN and one brother: Dennis Davis of Crockett Mills, TN, step-father; Bubba Arwood of Halls,TN. Chuck also leaves a special companion who lived with him, Bunny Elder. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Phylis Hogeland and Annette Hartsfield. He was President, co-owner and operator of Billy Rogers Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. Sammy gave a life of service active as both Deacon at Mount Vernon Baptist Church and a current member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He led a fulfilled life by glowing love for his sons and grandchildren and being a friend to everyone he knew. The loves of his life were his family, baseball, cooking and yardwork. He was a former member of the Tennessee National Guard.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2016 at Hillcrest Baptist Church conducted by Reverend Michael Crandall. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed all kinds of dancing, particularly square dancing, with her husband, Alex.
