She is survived by daughters Beth (Scott) Turner, Carol (Jon) Esenwein of Pierceton, IN, Kimberlee (Keith) Winnett of Fort Wayne, IN and son Benjamin Butz also of Pierceton, IN. She leaves a legacy of ten grandchildren & five great-grandchildren with two new additions coming soon.

John Andrew Fisher, Sr., 89, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional Hospital. Born July 17, 1926, he was the son of the late Harry and Helen Murdock Fisher. He was a retired teacher with Dyersburg City Schools. Mr. Fisher was a faithful and active member of The First United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday School and sang in the Chancel Choir and Mens Chorus for over 60 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, the 2nd director of the Civil Defense for Dyersburg/ Dyer County, longtime member of the Dyersburg Choral Society, and past treasurer of the Retired Teacher Association. Mr. Fisher was a past member of the Dyersburg City Planning Commission, Dyer County School Board, and a charter member of Dyersburg/Dyer County Community Concert Association. He was a past president of The Dyersburg Civitan Club, where he was a member for over 30 years. He was a red coat volunteer beginning in 1992 at Methodist hospital continuing thru 2015. He was the treasurer of the Dyer County Life Line Blood Program and was a 13 gallon whole blood donor. Mr. Fisher proudly defended our country as a WWII Navy Veteran.

Funeral services will be at 12 Noon, Saturday, February 13, 2016 at First United Methodist Church conducted by Reverend Dell King and Reverend Ed White with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

He passed away Friday, January 29, 2016 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

She was retired from Tennessee Department of Employment Security and was a columnist for The Dyersburg Mirror and the Dyer County Tennessean. She published a cookbook, From the Back Burner that became a local favorite. Proceeds from the sale were donated to the Dyer County Fair Association. Mrs. Stafford was an active member of First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Sellers Sunday School Class and was instrumental in beginning the Homebound Communion program. After retirement, she was a Pink Lady beginning her tenure at Parkview Hospital and continuing thru 2002. She was a past board member of the Dyer County Volunteer blood program and an avid bridge player. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2016 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Dell King and Reverend Ed White with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Woody was an avid fisherman, loved a good game of cards and enjoyed life and entertaining his friends with his infectious smile and sense of humor. She taught herself French and became close with many students from all over the world evaluating and instructing them in their bible lessons via the internet. She wrote poetry and painted in her free time, kept a garden, and loved taking walks. Oneida was beautiful.

He served on the Board of Directors at First Citizens National Bank and the Farmers Co-Op and was a member of the Tennessee Agriculture Committee.
