Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Cottonwood Baptist Church in Ridgely, where he was a member, with the Rev. Bob Dennison and Glen Burse officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the church. Survivors include his mother, Reba Helton Tate of Ridgely; four sisters, Delores Burse of Henderson, Joyce Welch of Dyersburg, Alice Cranford of Ridgely, and Marsha Bartlett of Union City; and two brothers, W.C. Tate of Kenton and Ronnie Tate of Dallas, Texas; Peggy Robinson, cousin. He was preceded in death by his father, Till Tate. Pallbearers will be Wayne Cranford, Rickey Burse, Bryan Melton, Jordan Burse, Kelly Bartlett and Stan Welch. The family requests that any memorials be directed to Cottonwood Baptist Church in Ridgely.

Corinne Cutchin Stephenson 90 of Dyersburg passed away peacefully on March 20, 2008 after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her husband George W. Stephenson, Jr. She attended Huntington College in Alabama. She was Miss Dyersburg in 1934, a Maid of Cotton in 1935 and a former Tennessee Mother of the Year. A devoted Christian, and a faithful member of Holy Hills Baptist Church. Her commitment to family, friends and community could be seen in her active membership in the garden club, Night owls, sewing circle and core leader for Bible study fellowship. A gifted artist she was recognized for her talent in china painting and dried flower arrangements. . She is survived by a daughter, Ann M. Stephenson, two sons, George W. Stephenson III and Thomas C. Stephenson all of Memphis: one brother William T. Cutchin Jr. of Dyersburg and one sister Laura J. Mullen of Ashland , Oregon. She is survived by four grandchildren Craig Dickey, Thomas Stephenson, Stacey S. Hyde and Walt Stephenson and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral will be held at Curry Funeral Home at 2:00 on Saturday, the visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service. The family requests that memorials be sent to Holy Hills Baptist Church or Dyersburg Union Mission.
