Roger M. Wilson, 72, of Humboldt, died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at his residence. He was retired from DiCarlo Bakeries, an Army veteran, former member of Old English Inn in Jackson, a member of the VFW, licensed private pilot with the Federal Aviation Administration, a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, and an avid pilot and airplane builder. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Curry Funeral Home with Dr. Ronnie Wilbourne officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg. The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Faye Wilson of Jackson; a daughter, Robin Goff of Jackson; two sons, Roger D. Wilson of Hemit, Calif., and Jerry Scott Wilson and wife, Mary Beth, of Medon; a sister, Barbara Marshment of Gladstone, Mo.; a brother, Robert J. Wilson of Athens, Ga.; and four grandchildren, Erica Goff, Russell Goff, Murphy Wilson and John Wilson. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Lynn Wilson; and his parents, George and Georgia Wilson. Pallbearers will be Roger D. Wilson, Scott Wilson, Russell Goff, Murphy Wilson, John Wilson and Tim Marshment. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Stewart, Steve Bray, Ricky Finch, Gary Johnson, Walter Fisher, Jim Hamm and Mike Chase. The family requests that any memorials be directed to the American Heart Association.
