He is the son of the late Clyde Thomas and the late Buton (Thurmond) Jackson. Thomas served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran and also was a retired employee of Bellsouth. He is survived by his wife: Melissa Ann (Reno) Jackson, two daughters: Jennifer Anne (Allen) MacDonald of Memphis, TN and Cortney Michelle (Donnie) Brookins, and two sons: Michael Chase (Payton) Jackson of Rector, AR and Cody Randall (Brittany) Westerman of Marshall, MO, Brother of one sister: Vanessa Jackson of Memphis, TN. Thomas also leaves six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Jackson. Gynger Day Corlew passed away peacefully Monday, May 8, 2023 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN surrounded by her loved ones. She is the daughter of the late William Johnson (WJ) Young and Margaret Marbury Young. She is the granddaughter of the late John Wilkes and Cornelia Johnson Young. She is also the granddaughter of the late Robert Woodson Marbury and Eddie Lou Carter. Gynger leaves behind her son, David (Trish) Corlew and a daughter, GyNeal Corlew Buckner. She leaves behind her granddaughter, Logan Mariah Buckner and three grandsons, Chase Alexander, Gage Addison, and Blake Ashton Corlew. Gynger also leaves two sisters, Ellen Durham of Hernando, MS and Betty Young of Friendship, TN. Plus many loved nieces and nephews. Gynger was employed at Harden Office Equipment in Dyersburg, TN until the time of her disability. Through all of her hardships in life, she always braved them while keeping a smile on her face. She was a devoted Christian and always relied on God to take care of her needs. She was a devoted member of Southfork Baptist Church at Chesnut Bluff for many years. Ms. Evelyn Webb Chandler

Evelyn Webb Chandler, 90, of Halls, passed away Monday, April 24th, 2023 in Murfreesboro with her son Ken Webb of Dyersburg and daughter Carolyn Callender of Murfreesboro by her side. Evelyn was born the oldest of four children to Oscar and Neva Brewer on September 5th, 1932. In her younger years she learned a strong work ethic helping her parents in the cotton fields. She married the love of her life Kenneth Webb in 1949. Ken and Evelyn loved their church and singing praises to their savior. They raised 3 children and had 8 grandchildren before Ken's passing in 1995. Evelyn married her second husband, Max Chandler, in 1998, and they continued to lead a life full of sharing the good news of Jesus, working hard at the barber shop, and pouring into their community. She barbered in Halls at Ken's Barber Shop for about 40 years and was a faithful member of Tucker Street Church in Dyersburg, TN. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 29th at Halls Funeral Home officiated by Nate Callender. Ken Webb, Mark Callender, Isaac Webb, Nate Callender, Noel Foster, and Ben Foster will be serving as pallbearers. Jamie Barnes and John Lazure are honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 29th beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the service time at the funeral home. Peggy Ann Gillenwater, age 88, of Halls passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at her home in Halls. Peggy was born January 20, 1935, in Lauderdale County, TN. She is the daughter of the late Mardis and the late Ina May (Sanders) Erwin. She was a long-time employee of Tupperware Manufacturing in Halls. She is survived by two daughters: Donna Oslund of Halls, TN and Barbara Barham of Ripley, TN. Peggy also leaves seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild along with seven step children. Peggy was preceded in death by two husbands, Hulon Hogue and Thomas Lyle Gillenwater and a son Marlon Hogue and a granddaughter Amy Terry. She was also preceded in death by ten siblings Nancy Nix, Geneva Lovelace, Mildred Childress, Erma Olds, Rachel Hong, H.T. Erwin, Aron Neal Erwin, Linburg Erwin, Joe Erwin, Gail Erwin. The funeral will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 14 at Tabernacle of Praise Church, 9879 Hwy 51 N, Halls, TN with Brother Ron Scott and Brother Bobby Jacobs officiating. The burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Dyersburg. Calling hours will be Friday, April 14 from 10 a.m. until service time at Tabernacle of Praise Church.
