Barbara also leaves four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Morgan, and sister, Paulene Clemente. No arrangements to be announced at this time.

She is the daughter of the late Harvey Dewitt and the late Molly Vashti (Morgan) Thornton. She is survived by one daughter: Donna Pugh of Halls, TN and a daughter-in-law, Diane Noblin of Halls. She is also survived by two of eleven siblings. Ms. Elizabeth also leaves four grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren. Ms. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Donnie Noblin and a son, John Harvey Noblin. She was a long-time member of Halls First Baptist Church. Born July 20, 1948, she is the daughter of the late R.E. “Dick” Donner and Martha Wheeler Donner Borthwick. She is the granddaughter of the late R.H. Wheeler. Sue described herself as her fathers spiritual heir and had a zest for life. She had a special gift of communication with all types of people and deeply touched the lives of those who knew her with her kind, caring nature and generous ways. She loved and lived the music, loved animals and football, loved helping out her friends, loved the peace of the seashore and was comfortable with herself and her God. She went to school in Dyersburg, Philadelphia, Memphis and Florida. She attended the University of Alabama and the University of Tennessee. She traveled extensively meeting many people before settling down in Franklin with her soul mate, Larry Pierce. She treasured her many musical memories she made over the years. Sue adored her hillside property while watching the huge expansion in the Nashville area.

Daniel Howard Shelton

May 27, 1938 – February 16, 2023

Daniel Howard Shelton, 84, was born May 27, 1938 in Blountsville, Alabama. He went peacefully to be with the Lord from his home in the Poplar Grove community near Halls, Tennessee on February 16, 2023. Dan was employed by Tupperware Company from 1968 until his retirement in 1992 as Molding Room Superintendent. He was faithful member of Williams Chapel Baptist Church for over 60 years. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing gospel music with his daughter, Lori. His southern gospel quartet, The Chapel Lights, performed frequently in local area churches in the 1970s. He loved hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, cooking, gardening, selling fresh vegetables and hosting family softball games on Sunday afternoons at his home. In his later years he enjoyed gathering and preparing pecans to share with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Vanda Davis Shelton and daughter, Lori Shelton Longest (Dr. Bruce Longest) of Bruce, Mississippi. Additional survivors are sisters Lucy Chamberlian (Tom Chamberlian) of Rockford, Illinois and Hazel Adams (Pat Adams) of Oneonta, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Jiles Washington Shelton; four sisters: Roverta Slaughter, Juanita Foote, Margaret Thomas, and Joyce Kirk and two brothers; J.W. Shelton and Jeff Shelton. Visitation will be Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, followed by a memorial service on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at 2:00pm at Halls Funeral Home. He is the son of the late Barney and the late Nancy (Hamby) Long. He was a retired employee of American Greetings. Kenneth is survived by one daughter: Angela (Kenny) Rood of Friendship, TN and one son: Brian (Shannon) Long of Gates, TN; one sister: Emily (Doyle) Hill of Walls, MS and two brothers: Steve Long of Ripley, TN and Ricky (Vicky) Long of Ripley, TN. He also leaves behind five grandchildren. Kenneth is predeceased in death by his wife, Linda Terry Long and his sister, Diane Clarke. Jerry Ray Brewer

Jerry Brewer, 80, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, January 22, 2023 at his residence. Jerry was born the youngest of four to Neva and Oscar Brewer on October 18, 1942. In his younger years he proudly boxed in the golden gloves. In 1963 he married the love of his life Caroline Brewer and they built a beautiful life together. They raised 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren. Through the years they had many great adventures water skiing, flying, and dancing. From a very young age, he knew he wanted to be in construction. He started and successfully ran his own construction company, working up until his death. He was always a fighter and he fought a valiant fight to the end.

Visitation services for Harry Whitney Wright, Jr., 82, Theodosia, Missouri, will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2023, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Wright passed away at 5:14 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Brooke Haven Healthcare. It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn his peaceful passing. Harry will be lovingly remembered by his wife and family. He was born April 2, 1940, at Halls, Tennessee, to Harry Whitney Wright, Sr. and Martha Higdon Wright. Harry was known and loved by many for being the man that he was. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor's degree in Agriculture. Mr. Wright was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He worked farming for years with his son, Whitney and was a successful real estate broker, insurance broker and was a certified real estate appraiser for a number of years. Harry loved hunting of all kinds and he always enjoyed introducing young people to hunting. He enjoyed his stories of the woods and experiences and hosting dove hunts with friends and family. His first love and passion was horses; riding, showing, raising, buying, selling, trading, anything horses. From his loving wife: He would tell me at shows"more riding, less talking", my groom, my friend, my cowboy, rest well until we ride again. Happy Trails my love. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Pascoe Wright; his children, Conley and Dee Wright, Elizabeth and Kyle Mahan, April Wright and Chance and Laura Cates; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several cousins. His parents and one son, Whitney Wright III, preceded him in death. Harry will be laid to rest at Halls Cemetery, Halls, Tennessee.
