Mrs. Wallis Ann Davison
January 10, 1937 – September 14, 2021
Wallis Ann "Wally Babe" Davison went to sing and worship in the presence of the Lord, September 14,2021 from her home in Finley. What Wally Babe lacked in size, she had in abundance in joy, faithfulness and love. A lifelong servant of Jesus, she gave her life to the Lord as a young girl and was known throughout her life for playing the piano at various churches, being a prayer warrior and sending hand-written, encouraging letters to family and friends. She loved family gatherings, making pancakes for her grandchildren, studying her Bible and gardening. Everyone that met her was impacted by the shining light within her and they always left her presence knowing a little more about Jesus. Wallis Ann was born on January 10,1937, in Dyersburg, Tn and grew up in Lennox. She was the daughter of the late Everett Clayborne "E.C." and Kathleen Berkley Poole. On November 9,1953 she married Travis Edgar Davison "Country Boy" and they had four sons: Travis, Marcus, Michael and Joe Davison. In 1976, her husband Travis began Davison Monuments in Dyersburg. While it was said that Travis could sell sailboats in the desert, Wallis Ann was quite the salesperson herself! She worked at Davison Monuments as long as her health permitted. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Travis of 61 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her son, Michael D. Davison. She is survived by three sons: Travis E. Davison Jr.(Deborah) of Yorkville, Tn, Marcus S. Davison of Big Boy Junction and Joe Davison (Dianne) of Dyersburg; seven grandchildren: Ed Davison, Laura Boals(Matt) , Emily Widner (Thomas), Holly Davison, Jesse Burchfiel(LaDonne), Rachel Stover(Steven) and Ben Davison(Brittany), Kelly Howe(Kane) and 12 great-grandchildren. In her final days, two things burned bright in her mind: her love for Jesus, "without Him, we are nothing", she said, and her love for family. Her family will remember her for her love for Jesus, first and foremost, but also for her cheerful heart, visiting the sick, leading and living by example, her cornbread, being servant minded, teaching them what real faith is like even when they cannot see it, her pancakes, her story telling, her prayers, without ceasing, her infectious laugh and being an example of the kind of person everyone wants to be when they grow up. You're the one and only "Wally Babe" and you will be forever known for putting the biscuits in the oven! Funeral Services are Wednesday, September 22, 2:00 P.M. in the chapel at Halls Funeral Home with Bro. Travis E. Davison Jr. officiating. The family will receive visitors from 12:00 p.m. till 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Halls Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Sudbury Cemetery in Friendship, Tn. Pallbearers will be Ed Davison, Jesse Burchfiel, Ben Davison, Steven Stover, Matt Boals and Brian Davison with Thomas Widner and Robert Calton serving as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Transitions of Dyer County, the Dyer County food Bank or another local charity.
