When she wasn't fishing or reading a book, she loved to support her favorite baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals. She was a member of McCullough's Chapel Baptist Church. She was also very involved in the Dyer County Fair where she served as a board member and director for over 40 years.

She was a long-standing member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and enjoyed 28 years serving as the church's organist. She spent 13 years as a piano teacher for many in the community. Donna was the first President of the local Parrish Council of Catholic Women, was an avid reader and was deemed the best cook ever according to those who knew her.

Nancy Carol Hargrove Thrash, age 74, died on September 1, 2020 in Ripley, Tennessee. Celebration of Life to be held at Halls Funeral Home, September 6, at 3 o'clock with the Rev. Barbara Blackmon-Fortune officiating. Mrs. Thrash was born on January 28, 1946 in Brownsville, Tennessee to the Lt. Col. Grady Thomas Hargrove and Dorothy Louise (Wood) Hargrove. She traveled extensively in her youth as part of an active military family. She eventually continued the adventure as she met and married a US Marine, the Major Ronald Jess Thrash. She enjoyed travel throughout her life, from her childhood years spent in places such as Puerto Rice to Turkey, to camping trips to the mountains, and trips to beaches as a young mother. Early retirement years added to the adventures with many cross-country motorcycle trips with her husband. She was an active part of her children's lives, actively attending ball games, dance recitals, and band competitions. She was a proud Band Mom of the 1984 state champion Golden Tiger Band to whom she was known lovingly as "Little Mama". She continued to serve actively as she became a grandmother, serving as prop mistress for productions at Ripley High School. Mrs. Thrash is preceded in death by her husband USMC Major Ronald J. Thrash, to whom she was always faithful "Semper Fi", her parents, Grady and Dorothy (Wood) Hargrove, and brother Tom Wood Hargrove. She is survived by her sister, Bette (Ken) Davis of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, her son, USMC L/Cpl.Todd (Dianne) Thrash of El Indio, Texas, daughter, Kelly Thrash of Jackson, Tennessee. Loving Mawmaw to Mikayla (Kyle) Haggard of Mobile, Alabama, Christopher Thrash of Mathis, Texas, Matthew Williamson of Jackson, Tennessee, and Cheyenne Thrash if Lubbock, Texas, and Great Grandmother to Alexander Haggard. Nieces and nephews include Casey (Eric) Hansen of Happy Valley, Oregon and Evan (Rebecca) Davis of Arlington, Virginia. Pam is remembered for many things including, her love of her "shortys," her beloveddachshunddogs; her years teaching Sunday school at the United Methodist Church in Dyersburg; and her favorite saying:“There are 365'fear nots'in the Bible, one for every day of the year.”

John Wesley “Wes” Addison, 55, of Dyersburg, died Friday, August 21, 2020 in Gosnell, Arkansas. Born October 10, 1964, he is the son of Barbara Sandlin (Wayne) of Lamesa, TX and Graham Addison (Rita) of Seminole, TX. He graduated from Lamesa, TX in 1983. He was an Ag Pilot. Wes proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Dyersburg.

Wes was a cropduster for 28 years. He began his career in Seminole, TX, working for his dad at Addison Flying Service. In 2004, he took a job at Earls Flying Service in Steele Missouri. He was highly respected among others in his field, with some even referring to him as “top 10 in the profession”.

She is survived by her daughter, Del Hudson of Dyersburg; two sons, Thomas William Hudson (Mona) of Dyersburg, Dr. William Frank Hudson (Laura) of Byhalia, MS ; one brother, Billy Joe Bishop (Sue) of Eudora, AR; with three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Thomas Hudson; two sisters, Rose Bingham, Elnora McCann; and two brothers, Douglas Bishop and Rudolph Bishop. Dennis Joseph Krieger, age 60, passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 in Dyersburg, TN. Dennis was born in Joliet, the son of the late Robert (Bob) and Helen (Forkal) Krieger. He attended St. Jude School in Joliet and Joliet West High School. He worked at General Motors for over 25 years and more recently worked in construction, homebuilding. Dennis, a very skilled guitar player, was passionate about music, and loved attending concerts. He enjoyed creating - rebuilding guitars and crafting beautiful carpentry and tile work. Dennis loved spending time on the water and was a competitive swimmer as well as scuba diver when he was younger. He enjoyed boating, tubing, snow skiing and fishing. And he appreciated Harley Davidson anything! Above all, Dennis was very generous and giving person. Surviving are his loving daughter, Kayla (Jeremy) Bopp; four grandchildren, Tayler, Lukas, Ethan and Barrett; his beloved dog Logan; four siblings, Mary Catherine (Stephen) Kapella of Joliet, IL, Robert Duane (Sonnya) Krieger of Tinley Park, IL, Patricia Susan (Andrew) Kramer of Fountain Hills, AZ, and Jeffrey Stephen Krieger of East Hartford, CT. Minnie Zell Gilliland Williams 3/25/1930-8/12/2020 Heaven was made a bit more beautiful this week with the arrival of Minnie Zell Gilliland Williams on Wednesday morning, August 12, 2020, in her home at the Atlantic Shores community in Virginia Beach, VA. Her peaceful passing was the culmination of a life full of love and happiness which touched the hearts of all who knew her. Known to friends and family as Zell, she was born to Pearl and Emmet Gilliland at the home of Austin and Jennie Gilliland in Frog Jump, Tennessee, on March 25, 1930. Zell was one of a set of twin girls, Pearl and the other baby girl died during the birth. Jennie and Austin took that precious little soul in and raised her with their daughters as their own. Zell grew into a sweet, vivacious young woman; well loved by all. She was a high school athlete, playing basketball and running track. She studied music in Little Rock, AR, for several summers and became a wonderful pianist and piano teacher. Zell met and married Roy Haden Williams Jr. on July 13, 1946; a marriage that would last 74 years. They had two daughters, Lana and Cathy. Zell became a hairdresser and opened a beauty salon with her sister-in-law, Violet Williams, which they ran until they retired. In recent years, Zell and Roy lived in Waunakee, WI, and Virginia Beach, VA, to be near their daughters. Zell was a fervent Christian and praised God for all the blessings in her life and actively encouraged everyone in her influence to claim the wonderful gift of salvation. She lived the faith she shared; always ready to help and serve where there was need. She had a contagious laugh and loved to have fun. Zell is survived by her husband Roy; daughters, Lana Koontz and Cathy Pierce (Jay); grandchildren Bryan Koontz, Jason Koontz (Cara), Leanne Lacy (Jerritt), Ethan Koontz (Jennifer); and, great grandson, Haden Lacy. She leaves her sisters: Juanita Hartman, Geneva Jackson, Mary Sue Baker and Bonnie Hunt. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Helen Fincher and brother, D.L. Gilliland. Zell's funeral service will be held on August 17, 2020 at Halls Funeral Home, Halls, TN. Visitation from 10:00am - 12:00pm and funeral service to follow with the internment at Gates Cemetery, Gates, TN. The Reverend (Joy) Lynn Drumwright passed from this earth to heaven on August 11, 2020. Lynn was born on November 22, 1931 in Lauderdale County, Tennessee, the fifth of seven sons of J. W. and Zelia Mae Drumwright. He attended Whitefield Assembly of God Church in Lauderdale County as a youngster and went to Ripley High School where he met and then in 1949 married the love of his life, (Emma) Charlene Thompson, who preceded him in death.

Lynn was a minister, educator, and electrician. He started his career as a lineman for Ripley Power and Light Company, was called to the ministry, later became an elementary school teacher, and a high school Psychologist and Counselor. He was an ordained minister for the Assembly of God Church, serving as pastor in Murfreesboro, TN; East Prairie, MO; Aguadilla, Puerto Rico; Southside Assembly of God in Dyersburg; and finally, the Cornerstone Church of God in Dyersburg.

She was a member of Tiptonville First Baptist Church for over 50 years and was also a member of the Eastern Star.

She loved deeply and had a passion for caring for others. She lived life to the fullest and never took a second for granted. She is greatly admired for her work ethic, spontaneity, and how she did not take life too seriously. Her laugh was contagious and she was the greatest sister, daughter, and friend anyone could ask for. Your life was a blessing. Your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
