Mr. David Oneal Gitchell, 91, of Ripley, TN. passed away on Saturday, March 9th, 2019, surrounded by family and friends at Bailey Park Community Living Facility in Humboldt, TN. He was just 2 days away from celebrating his 92nd. birthday. He was a retired employee of Tennessee Die Casting, Revell Construction Company and Volz Construction Company. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Gitchell was born on March 11th. 1927 in Ripley,TN. He was married to Doris Irene Kelley of Ripley,TN on August 13th, 1949 in Hernando,MS. They were married 64 years until her passing on December 24th,2013. Mr. David is survived by: four daughters; Beverly (Bob) Benedict of Humboldt,TN Cathy (Barry) Webster of Corbin, KY, Patricia (Donald) Sanders of Dayton, OH and Melodie (Fredrick) Hill of Parsons, TN. One son: David (Jennifer) Gitchell of Ripley,TN. Ten grandchildren: Heather (David) Powell, Anna (Chris) Hart, Amy (Brian Cristallino) Miotti, Susan (Chad) Arwood, Jeremy (Cara Beard) Webster, Byron (Libbi) Sanders, Jonathan Sanders, Jessica (Diego) Moreno, Nathan (Helen Long) Crumley, and Caitlyn Gitchell. Nineteen great-grandchildren: Kara (Bradley) Mathews, Mary (Jacob Knapp) Powell, Madelyn Powell, Jacob (Ashlie) Simpson, Dylan Simpson, Savannah Hart, Gage Hart, Hailee Bridges, Dalton Miotti, Callie Arwood, Zach Arwood, Hayden Sanders, Addison Sanders, Kinsley Sanders, Caleb Sanders, Meili Moreno, Natalie Moreno, Romeo Charles Moreno and Sophia Sanders. Three great,great-grandchildren: Katie Mathews, Charlotte Matthews and Isaac Simpson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Irene Kelley; his parents, William David Gitchell and Dolly Harrison Gitchell; his infant daughter, Gloria Ann Gitchell and great-grandson, Colby Arwood. Mr David was also preceded in death by all of his siblings. Sisters: Alma Gitchell Koonce, Lois Gitchell Haislip, Effie Gitchell Koonce Haynes, Edna Gitchell Reese Wilson and Agnes Gitchell King Gibson. Brothers: Lewis Gitchell, Henry Gitchell, Harvey Gitchell, Thomas Gitchell (infant), and Half Siblings: Ira Gitchell and Sammie Gitchell. Visitation is scheduled for Friday March 15th from 10:30 am until the service time at 1pm at Abundant Life Church, (2131 US Hwy. 51, Ripley,TN 38063) where they were members for many years. Burial will follow in the Grace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial gifts be made to the Abundant Life Church (2131 US Hwy 51, Ripley,TN 38063) or to Bailey Park Community Living Facility-Recreation/Activities Department( 2400 E. Faye Carolyn Pierce Wright, age eighty, passed away on March 9, 2019 at 4:20 PM while in hospice care at Shelby Gardens Senior Care Community in Cordova, TN. She was born October 14, 1938, in Blytheville, AR to Robin and Faye Pierce. Faye was the widow of Richard Wright of Tiptonville, TN, whom she married on September 1, 1957 at First Baptist Church in Dyersburg, TN. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Robin and Faye Pierce and one brother, Jerry Pierce of Dyersburg. Faye is survived by one daughter, Abbe Wright Anderson (Jeff); one son, Richard Pierce Wright, and one beloved granddaughter, Katy Abraham, all of Memphis. She is also survived by a brother, Dr. Robin Pierce (Frankie) of Athens, TN; one sister, Dr. Betty Pierce Hendrickson (Tim) of Tullahoma, TN; one sister-in-law, Mary Pierce of Houston, TX; and her best buddy, Eula Horrell (Rob) of Memphis, TN.
