He is the son of the late James Albert and the late Wilma (Goode) Johnson. He was employed in the commercial maintenance field. He is survived by one daughter: Courtney Johnson of Ripley, TN; Brother of five sisters: Betty Hutchison of Brighton, TN, Martha Faught of Yellville, AR, Patti Ivy of Millington, TN, Mary Jones of Brighton, TN and Jody Jones of Covington, TN. David also leaves a longtime companion, Delene Burns of Ripley, TN. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Burns Johnson, and brothers; Jimmy Johnson, and Danny Johnson. Memorial visitation will be held from 3-5 pm. on Sunday June 10, 2018 at Asbury United Methodist Church.

He was born on October 29, 1927, in Fowlkes, TN, to the late Milton Binkley and the late Dona Binkley. Milton was a Burro Crane Operator for the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. In 1949 he became a member of Fowlkes Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and song leader. He was a coach for Dixie Youth Baseball and enjoyed many years of travel camping. Mr. Binkley will be truly missed by his family and church.

Wanda was also a member of First Baptist Church in Halls for over 55 years where she taught Sunday school and served in various other capacities. She is survived by four sons: Frank Williams of Arlington, TN, Lee Williams of Big Sandy, TN, Steve Williams of Halls, TN and John Williams of Bloomington, WI, Sister of one sister: Ann Griggs of Ripley, TN and three brothers: Charles Griggs of Ripley, TN, Billy Griggs of Atlanta, GA and Joe Griggs of Ripley, TN. Wanda also leaves 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at First Baptist Church, Halls, TN with Bro. Brian Isbell officiating. He was born on May 24, 1926 to the late Royal Earley and Nannie Mae Carlisle in Dyer County. He attended school until the 8th grade, and helped his father on the family farm until joining the United States Army. He married the love of his life, Miss Louise Crumley and later they welcomed their only son, Randy. Pat was a wonderful father, not only caring for his wife during her illness, but also making sure Randy had everything a little boy needed. Nights pitching the baseball back and forth and road trips to Memphis made memories for a lifetime.

Five years later, in 1973, she graduated from the University of Memphis with a Master of Education Degree. Mary Jane was a retired teacher, where she taught elementary school for 40 years in Madison County, Chester County, Memphis and Dyersburg Systems. She received a "Teacher of the Year" award from the Dyersburg City School System. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, where she taught a children's Sunday School Class for many years.

He volunteered as a Hospital Redcoat for eleven years. Thomas was an avid bowler and golfer, making his fourth hole in one at age 90. Mr. Kee served his Country during WWII in the United States Navy.

Dorothy Avery Cox, age 93 of Gates Tennessee died on April 30 in Dallas, Texas. She was the oldest daughter of Thomas Wilbur and Duette Doerr Avery. Dorothy Cox was an accomplished musician and piano teacher in Memphis, TN and Plano, TX for more than 60 years. She served as pianist at Frayser Baptist Church and received her Masters degree from Memphis State University. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, James O. Cox, Jr., her eldest son, James O. Cox, III and great grandson, Jack Michael Smith. Dorothy was a loving sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her sister Velma Anne Chisholm of Tennessee; her children, Meredith Cox of Santa Monica, CA, Michael Cox of Fort Worth, TX, Patricia Avery of Dallas, TX and Melody McCary of Plano, TX. She also leaves her grandchildren Nicole Cox, Courtney Smith, James Cox IV, Christopher Cox and Matthew Cox as well as great grandchildren Meredith Daniel, James V, Wyatt Christopher, Matthew Avery and Ethan Russell. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, Monday, May 7 at Gates Baptist Church, 85 Wardlow Street W, Gates, TN.
