She was born November 15, 1920 to the late William Calvin and Bertie Bell Johnson Ladd. Mrs. Harrell and her late husband, Robert Couch Harrell (10/28/99) were the owners of Harrells Fish Market in downtown Dyersburg. They were members of First Baptist Church in Dyersburg.

She is survived by her two sons, William T. Harrell of Nashville, Robert L. Harrell of Memphis; two grandchildren, Morgan Alexandra Harrell, Laura Catherine Harrell; and one brother, William Calvin Ladd, Jr. of Atlanta GA.

Gary Cutler, 82, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018 at his residence.

He was born on July 20, 1935, in Bogota, TN, to the late Malcolm Odelle Cutler and the late Willie Lorene Blackley Bottoms. He was a member and deacon at Hoffman Heights Church of Christ in Aurora, CO and also received his Masters Degree from Colorado State in Education. Before moving to Dyersburg, Gary taught electronics and math and Memphis State Technical Institute. Gary was a retired Associate Professor of Business and taught Business Cources for Dyersburg State Community College, where he worked for 20 years. Mr. Gary was also a member and elder of West Dyersburg Church of Christ. After 20 years of serving his country, he retired as a Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force, he was a technical writer and electronics instructor.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Charles Fletcher of Dyersburg, formerly of Shreveport, LA; son, Hugh Fletcher (Susan) of Newbern and Grant Fletcher (Magen) of Cleveland, OH; two grandchildren, Austin and Will Harris Fletcher, both of Newbern; two sisters, Diana Weinstein (Ken) of Dallas, TX and Sandy Fulton; her brother, Rick Fulton (Sherrie) of Phoenix, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.

She made frequent trips to Louisville, Kentucky to visit her daughter and son-in-law. She loved taking her granddaughters to McDonalds on Sunday mornings for pancakes and playing. She enjoyed baking with her oldest granddaughter, Marley and loved playing pretend with her youngest granddaughter, Laney. She also would travel to her home town in up-state New York to visit her family. She enjoyed spending time at Cossayuna Lake, New York in the summers with her best friends, Valarie, Dorothy, Ruthie and John. She enjoyed entertaining her group of friends, The Posse, at her home, loved their monthly cooking classes and their many girls trips.

Gary N. Holder, 74, of Ridgely, died Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at his residence. Born April 1, 1943, he is the son of the late Silvan Autman and Mary Lorene Bargery Holder. He was a Baptist and retired mechanic at Wynnburg Tractor Company. Gary was the Land Captain for Lake County Rescue Squad for many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

He is survived by one daughter, Toni Holder of Ridgely; one son, Royce Holder (Andria) of Ridgely; five grandchildren, Colton Holder, Braxton Holder, Joshua Holder, Blake Holder and Lilly Holder; two great-grandchildren, Gauge Holder, Addy Holder; and one brother, Kenneth Holder.

Marvin Schultz, Jr., 62, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at his residence. Born August 10, 1955, he was the son of the late Marvin B. Schultz, Sr. (5/5/2001) and Florence Tipton Schultz (12/6/2015). Marvin was a farmer, cattleman, and a partner with Schultz Brothers Farms. He was a member of The Tennessee Cattleman Association and The American Soybean Association. Marvin was a fifth generation Dyer Countian, descended from the Light, Tipton, Thomas and OBryan families, all of which played prominent roles in the development of Dyersburg and Dyer County in the 19th century. He was a 1974 graduate of Dyersburg High School, and a 1979 graduate of The University of Tennessee where he was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity. Marvin was also a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Holy Angels Catholic Church officiated by Father Russ Harbaugh and Deacon Bill Winston with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

He was born on March 14, 1939, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late Earl Clarence Ellis and the late Burta Grace Siler Ellis. Mr. John was an electrical engineer for Osram Sylvania and also formerly worked at Union Carbide in Oak Ridge. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and a lifelong Methodist as a member of Church Street United Methodist Church in Knoxville.

Melondy Kay Myers, 46, of Dyersburg, lost her third battle with cancer on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She was a loving mother to three children; Dustin Walls of Ripley, Jamie Walls of Dyersburg, Raven Dallas of Dyer. She was also a caring and nurturing grandmother (Gigi) to five beautiful grandchildren, Bryleigh Walls, Anzleigh Walls, Abigail Staggs, Noah Walls and Eva Qualls. She also leaves her mother, Dora McDonald of Dyersburg and one sister, Michelle Armstrong of Finley. Preceding her passing was her husband and best friend, Keith Myers of Friendship and father, Jimmy Booker of Ripley. Melondy was an employee of the Dyersburg State Gazette.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, February 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Jeff Hall. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

She retired from South Central Bell as a telephone operator with 28 years of service.

Jerry also leaves one sister: Joyce Riddick of Gates, TN. He is also survived by one precious grand-daughter , Margaret Wiggins of Dyersburg, TN. Jerry was preceded in death by a sister, Dale Wiggins and a brother, Cotton Wiggins. He was born at the Baird Brewer General Hospital on Main Street in downtown Dyersburg on Easter Sunday morning, April 9, 1944 and was the son of the late Thomas Reasons, Sr. and Laura Odelle Pugh Reasons. Tommys roots were in Milltown in East Dyersburg on K.W. Avenue - a street that dead-ends on the south at the Cotton Mill where our dad spent most of his working life.

Tommy served as Dyer County Commission from Milltown District H for eight years and was on the budget, education, and law enforcement committees. He was also chairman of the E911 board when the new 911 building was built at the old fairgrounds on Harrell Avenue. He served on the Tri-County Solid Waste Board for 7 years. Tommy had a passion for politics, to say the least. And just two weeks ago, he picked up a petition for the upcoming 2018 election for Tennessee House of Representatives.
