He was an owner/operator truck driver, a welder and a pipe fitter. He was an Air Force Veteran and a 3rd Degree Mason. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Friday, January 23, 2015, Graveside at Fairview Cemetery conducted by Brother Mac Daniels. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Grandsons. Visitation will be Thursday, January 22nd from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Brenda Sweatt of Dyersburg; 2 daughters Donna Golden (Brad) of Craig, CO, Kimberly Eudaley of Nashville; 2 sons Troy Sweatt (Rita) of Lenox, Patrick Sweatt of Dyersburg; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Mr. J.R. was an avid golfer, a former Magistrate of Dyer County, former Chief Deputy for Dyer County Sheriff's Department and former member of Tennessee Army National Guard. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII.
