Mrs. Lois W. Grimes, 85, of Dyersburg, died Friday, March 6, 2015, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She was born October 21, 1929, to the late J.E. and Minnie Mae Palmer Williams. She was a member of McCullough's Chapel Baptist Church and a former Nurse Extender at Parkview Methodist Medical Center. She was fond of pets, especially her beloved German Shepherd, Samson, who preceded her in death. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday, March 10, 2015, in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Mike Hickman. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Britt Russell, Taylor Russell, Ian Belverstone, Will Harris, Josh Akers and Rodney Minyard. Visitation will be Monday, March 9th from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. She is survived by 1 daughter, Debbie Parmenter Harris of Dyersburg; 1 son J.W. Mr. Noah was a former Sunday School Teacher and Boy Scout Leader. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, where he received the Purple Heart Medal and the Silver Star Medal for his heroic service in Okinawa.

Mrs. Virginia Young Landsee, age 89, a resident of Guntersville, AL for the past 35 years, died peacefully February 24, 2015 at the Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis, TN. Mrs. Landsee was born in Dyersburg on February 5, 1926. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Miles Adams Young, lifelong residents of Dyer County. She attended Murray State College in Kentucky and graduated from St. Joseph School of Medical Technology in Memphis with a degree in Medical Technology. While working at St. Joseph Hospital, she met and married Dr. George Landsee. They had two daughters, Mrs. Carolyn L. Dear of Kansas and Mrs. Marilyn L. Dewease of Cordova. After working and teaching at the University of Tennessee Medical Units in Memphis for 20 years, she was supervisor of Hematology and Coagulation at Baptist Hospital before moving to Guntersville, AL. She was employed at Dr. Sara Martin's office for 15 years as Office Manager. She had taught Dr. Martin at the University of Tennessee Medical Units while Dr. Martin was studying for a masters Degree in Medical Technology. Mrs. Landsee was an avid sea shell collector and had a love of flowers and the outdoors. Shirley Ann Roberts Noble, 80, of Dyersburg, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015 at Oakwood Community Living Center.

She was a retired registered nurse for Dyersburg Fabrics, where she worked for over 20 years. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church. Shirley was active in various civic and church organizations throughout her life and was a lifelong resident of Dyersburg.

Big John was a member of the Volunteer Examiner Amateur Radio Service, the Amateur Radio Operator WB4RCK and W4FN, the Rag Chewers Club, the American Radio Relay League and the Military Affiliate Radio System ADM4RCK. He was also members of the Country Cousins Amateur Radio Network, the ARRL DXCC Honor Roll WB4RCK, the Forked Deer Antique Car Club and the Disabled Veteran's Association. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving on the U.S.S. Lexington.

She is survived by her 2 sons Arlie Stephens, Jr., and James Stephens (Betty), both of Dyersburg; 1 sister Lela Bell Stafford of Trenton; 1 brother Joe Sawyer of Hobart, Indiana; 3 grandchildren, Mike Stephens, Donna Sanders (Ronnie), Bonnie Reed (Joey); 5 great-grandchildren, Ashley Lovins (Keith), Kelley Sanders, Madison Reed (Brianna), Morgan Reed, Mallory Reed and 1 great-great-grandson, Brady Keith Lovins. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Arlie Stephens, Sr. (1983); 4 sisters Mary Nail, Beulah Pounders, Virginia Hall, Amanda Hatch and 4 brothers Jim Sawyer, Raymond Sawyer, Wilmer "Doc" Sawyer and Will Sawyer.
