He is survived by his fianc Ella Elrod, three daughters: Amanda Vaughn of Covington, TN, Natasha Elrod of Mason, TN, Lacisa Buckner of Ripley, TN; Brother of one sister: Mary Ann Taylor of Maryland and two brothers: Thomas Frazier of Halls, TN, William Sherrod of Curve, TN; Predeceased by his father, Raymond Neal Frazier, Mother, Mary Jane Hudson Lane. A graveside service will be held 12:00 pm on Friday, June 20 at Stanton Cemetery, , Stanton, TN with Jesse Moore officiating. She was the owner and operator of Apartment Staffing of Nashville and a Baptist. Ms. Viva was a former member of the Dyersburg-Dyer County Red Cross Chapter and a former Red Hat Lady. She was the former manager of The Greentree Apartments in Dyersburg and was an entrepreneur. She was deeply loved and touched many lives and will be missed by many. Ms. Viva was one of a kind.

He was a 3rd degree Mason, devout Christian, and Army Veteran. He was a dedicated family man and patriarch of his entire family. His generosity and goodwill touched many lives. Memorial services for Mr. Barnes will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Ridgely First United Methodist Church conducted by Reverend Sara Tate. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ruth Barnes, 5 daughters Lynn Roe of New River, AZ, Jeanne Dillingham of Fowlerville, MI, Janice Barnes and Shannon Brandau of Ridgely, Patsy McCaig of South Fulton, 1 brother Joel "Jody" Barnes of Niles, MI, 1 sister Cyndi Beymer of Phoenix, AZ, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mr. Billy Joe Clymer of Dyersburg, TN died on Sunday June 8, 2014 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. Born on May 28, 1929 in Dyer County, TN, he was the son of the late Ebben and Linnie Clymer. Mr. Clymer was retired from Heckethorn Manufacturing Company. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 11, 2014 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Mike Hickman with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg. Visitation will begin at 12 Noon until service time on Wednesday. Mr. Clymer is survived by one daughter Karen Clymer Bickers and one granddaughter Jada Bickers, both of Dyersburg; two brothers Klyce Clymer (Paulette) of Bartlett and Kenneth Clymer (Elsie) of RoEllen, in addition to several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jackie Guthrie Clymer, five brothers James Clymer, Raymond Clymer, Odel Clymer, Olen Clymer, Franklin Clymer and two sisters Helen Clymer Heathcott and Lawanda Clymer Jones. Bill was a very avid, outstanding football player for Dyersburg High School before continuing his passion for the game at the University of Wyoming. He was known for "pulling the chains" at DHS football games for over 40 years. After entering the US Army and serving in the Korean War, he returned back to Dyersburg with his loving wife, who were high school sweethearts. Pallbearers will be Jerry Roberts, Jeff Burroughs, Frank Horner, Ken Hickman, David Duncan and Russell Newbill. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Williams and Gerald Newbill. Melba Howerton Gates, a former long time resident of Dyersburg, passed away peacefully June 1, 2014 in Tucson, AZ following a brief illness. Melba was born November 27, 1921 in Trumann, AR. At age three she came to Dyersburg with her two older sisters and resided in a local orphanage. After high school graduation, she went to work for Forcum Lannom where she met Lonnie Gates. On May 15, 1950 they were married and raised their family in Dyersburg until 1985 when they moved to Colorado Springs, CO to be near Melba's two sisters. In 1989, Lonnie and Melba moved to Tucson AZ to be near their daughter Susan, and her family. She was a sweet and loving caregiver to all. Melba was a committed Christian and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dyersburg and later belonged to the Catalina Foothills Church in Tucson. She was a dedicated homemaker and active in her church playing piano and teaching Sunday school. Among the highlights of her life were trips to the Holy Land where she was a tour guide. She later served as office manager for The Dyersburg Internal Medicine Clinic, where she greatly enjoyed her professional career until retirement in 1985. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie C. Gates, and her two sisters, Ruth (George) Hudson and Thelma (Merv) Black and grandson, Dee Canale Jr. Melba is survived by her son L. Franklin Gates and daughter Susan (Alan) Rogers of Tucson and Janet (Dee) Canale of Memphis TN, granddaughters Stephanie (Matthew) Ayers and Amy Rogers, grandsons William (Jeannine) Canale and Stuart J. (Bonna) Canale. Visitation will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Dyersburg TN at noon June 7, 2014 with services at 1 PM and interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. He was an avid golfer and member of Dyersburg Golf Association; a former member of Dyersburg Rotary Club and formerly served with Dyersburg Housing Authority.

Martha "Louise" Darden Johnson, 87, of Murfreesboro, TN and formerly of Germantown and Dyersburg, TN died on May 24, 2014, from Alzheimer 's disease. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at The Tennessee State Veterans' Home in Murfreesboro, TN where she resided since 2009. Mrs. Johnson spent many years of her life as a resident of Dyersburg. She was a homemaker and member of the First Christian Church in Dyersburg. She was born in Crockett County, TN on October 15, 1926 to the late James Auburn Darden and Mildred Redmond Darden. Her husband, William L. "Bill" Johnson, preceded Mrs. Johnson in death in 2009. Survivors include her children, Dr. Nancy Williams (Dennis Williams) of Germantown, TN and John Johnson (Kathy) of Murfreesboro, TN, and granddaughters Lauren Johnson Person (David) of Murfreesboro and Nikki Johnson Galvis (Alex) of Lawrence, Kansas. She is also survived by her caregivers, Dorothy Luckey of Memphis and the staff of the Middle TN Veteran's Home. Visitation will be held at Curry Funeral Home in Dyersburg, TN on Tuesday, May 27, at 11:00 AM with the memorial service immediately following at 1:00 PM. A private graveside service has been held. L.D. "Don" Pennington, 86, of Dyersburg, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Methodist Hospital in Germantown.

He was chairman emeritus at Forcum-Lannom Contractors, LLC. Employed by Forcum James Company in 1952, he advanced through the ranks becoming President in 1983. Mr. L.D. was a Member of Executive Committee and Board of Directors at First Citizens National Bank and was Chairman of Board with Dyersburg Electric System. Some of his recent civic activities include, Member of Board of Directors with Dyersburg Vocational Training Center, Chairman-Four Rivers Tech Prep Consortium Committee with Dyersburg State Community College and a volunteer working with Port Authority Board, Elected Officials and Government Agencies to build Mississippi River Port and Industrial Park, that was a major development for Northwest Tennessee. His former civic activities include Chairman of University of Tennessee at Martin Development Committee, Member Executive Committee of Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber of Commerce, President of Greater Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber of Commerce, President of Dyersburg Country Club and Member and Director of Kiwanis Club. Special awards include Outstanding Business Man, 1980 for Dyersburg/Dyer County, Dyer County Humanitarian of the Year in 2000 and the Paul Harris Award presented by Dyersburg Rotary in 2001. Mr. Pennington was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he held most all church offices and was formerly a member of Administrative Board, Finance Committee and Chairman of Board of Trustees.

She was born on April 4th, 1921. She is preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, James N. Cook, on April 12th, of this year. She is survived by two sons, James L( Jimmy) Cook, class of '58, and Jack A. ( Jackie ) Cook, class of '65, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Many will remember Syble as the nurse at Dyersburg Fabrics where she retired. Prior to Dyersburg Fabrics she worked with Doctors Kerr & Moore. She also was one of the first nurses on duty when Parkview Hospital opened in the 50's. He was retired as Senior Vice-President at First Citizens National Bank after working there for 39 years. Mr. Johnson was a member of First United Methodist Church where he served as president of the Outpost Sunday School Class. He developed the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen and for many years served as Treasurer for the Salvation Army and the Thrift Store. He was also a member of the Dyersburg Lion's Club, past member of the Civitan Club, Dyer County Board of Education, Dyersburg City Alderman, and the Exchange Club where he served as President. He and his wife, Sue Dean, have been Dyer County Hosta Growers for about ten years and former members of the Memphis Hosta Society. He enjoyed fishing, playing Rook, and traveling. Mr Johnson was a U. S. Army veteran serving the Korean era.
