Pastor David Bradley Gray went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. David was born on Wednesday, April 24, 1957 in Santa Monica, California to the late Billy Earl Gray and Alice Ann Pigue Gray. He faithfully served as Pastor of Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Ridgely, Tennessee since 1985. David attended Rhema Bible Training College in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He served as Tennessee Director for Rhema Bible Training College beginning in 2006 until 2015 when he became a Midsouth Regional Director for Tennessee and Kentucky. Pastor David spent his life bringing people to the Lord and nurturing their relationship with Him. In the Book of John, Jesus said to Peter "[if you love me] feed my sheep." Two things are certain: David loved the Lord with all of his heart, and he was faithful to feed the sheep of Abundant Life Fellowship Church well by teaching them faith in the Word of God.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2024 at Abundant Life Fellowship Church with Rev. Don Adkins, Rev. Tony McKinnon and Rev. Kenneth W. Hagin officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

He was a former student at the Developmental Skills Center and was a member of Cornerstone Church of God. Nicky was a member of the Roy Rogers Club, where he had met Roy Rogers and Dale Evans numerous times in his life and he loved watching The Andy Griffith Show. He loved old cars and riding horses.

He retired after many years as a correctional officer and small business owner of Dean and Sons Lawn Care. Mowing yards was his passion, as was taking care of his family, friends, neighbors, and beloved pets. He was an avid "junker" who loved to find discarded items and see the potential in them, transforming these forgotten treasures into cherished possessions.

Ms. Shirley Ann Tucker Holmes, of Dyersburg, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, February 23, 2024. She was born June 17, 1932 in Urbana, AR to the late Shirley & Sally Tucker. Her main calling in life was as a homemaker and caregiver, raising her seven children and later working in a daycare where her grandchildren attended along with countless other children. She was an avid reader and for many years she loved to gift ceramic items, that she made, to family and friends. She worked part-time in real-estate and at one point, with her best friend selling fire alarms. Her grandchildren were her life in later years, never saying "no" where they were concerned. Family vacations to the beach were some of her favorite times away.

She is survived by her son, John Holmes & wife, Toni, her daughters, Kathy Boals Yarbro, Mary Patterson & husband, Tim, Missy Ivy & husband, Tim and a daughter-in-law, Jamie Holmes. She was loved as "Grandma" by her 12 grandchildren: Jennifer Boals Cozort, Patrick Boals, Andrew Holmes, Mark Holmes, Katie McFadden, Spencer Boals, Cammy Farkas, T.J. Ivy, Matthew Patterson, Thomas Ivy, Gracie Patterson & Luke Patterson and her great-grandchildren: Tucker & Kyle Cozort, Maclyn, Carter & Ruby Boals, Josalyn, Daylin & Ashton McFadden, Emma Farkas, Lane Brumfield, Delia & Mabel Holmes, Hannah, Emerson & Zoe Holmes and her great-great grandson, George Tucker Cozort.

Jan was born August 24, 1941, in Memphis Tennessee and worked many years as an accountant for various businesses and himself. He and his wife, Virginia, were members of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Dyersburg. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, especially at Reelfoot Lake and was an avid collector of art, antiques and coins. In his later years, he loved to travel internationally, exploring new cultures, places and experiences.

Jan is survived by his wife, Virginia Hamner Hudson, a son, Pernot Hamner Hudson, of Philadelphia, PA and a sister-in-law, Len Dow Hamner.

Joann Merrill Baird Lewis, 91, died Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at her residence. Joann was born in Dyersburg on October 2, 1932, to Merrill Miller and Dr. J. Paul Baird. She started dating her husband, Ken, when she was 15 and married when she was 21 after she attended Universities of Alabama, Florida, and Vanderbilt. After Ken graduated Vanderbilt with a B.S. in December 1952, they married February 8, 1953, and Ken started Southern College of Optometry in Memphis in March of 1953.

Joann was a lifelong member of Dyersburg First United Methodist Church where she an MYF leader for years. She was a member of Acts 29 Sunday School and United Methodist Women where she served as President, several times. She worked with the Cub Scouts, Brownie Scouts, Meals on Wheels and worked with Headstart when it first began. Joann helped organize day care center for working Moms among many other activities. Her works at her church and community, many done quietly behind the scenes, are numerous. She was a member of "The Sewing Circle", where they all made wonderful memories eating, entertaining, traveling, and caring for each other and their families.

Alfred was born on June 1, 1937, in Dyer County, TN, to the late Kizarah Jeff McKee and Leota Ramsey McKee. He was a retired sheet metal mechanic and was a member of the Independent Free Holiness Church. Alfred's passion was music. He played in churches and when he was younger, he played backup for many bands at Sun Records Studio, including the Oak Ridge Boys, Chet Atkins, Stella Parton and many more. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching wildlife.

She also has four precious grandchildren: Taylor Jacobs of Halls, TN, Leah Murray of Cordova, TN, Stephen Taylor of Jackson, TN and Matthew Taylor of Sevierville, TN. Mrs. Jean also leaves behind 4 wonderful great-grandchildren: Karsyn Akers, Julianna Akers, Jacob Murray and Callum Murray. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Taylor, her son, Todd Taylor and her brother, James Vowell Smith. The funeral will be held 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Westside Baptist Church, 705 Sumrow St., Halls, TN with her grandson Stephen Taylor officiating. She served in the Finley School cafeteria as a cook for over 38 years and was loved by the students there. She was a member of the Little Country Church. In her free time, she enjoyed time spent on her porch, visiting with her grandchildren, cooking for family, fishing and camping. She will be remembered by her family, friends, students and community for the love that she shared with them all.

She is survived by her daughters, Shelia Lewis & husband, Ronnie and Sandy Medley her sister, Judy Hutcheson, her grandchildren, Tony Lewis, Lana & Jeff Fair and Glenn & Shari Parkinson, her great-grandchildren, Leah & William Shultz, Taylor & Todd Baker, Kodie Taylor, Jessie & Katie Fair, Megan and Hannah Parkinson and her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Taylor, Brylee Fair, Madison Fair, Marvin Shultz and was excited for her baby Baker, expected to be born soon.
