Mr. Ronald Aden Holcomb, Sr. of Springville, TN, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, TN. Ron was born October 7, 1949 in Dyersburg, TN to the late Ralph & Martha Holcomb. Upon graduation, he served in the United States Army in Viet Nam and later served in the United States Air Force in both active and reserve roles. For 30 years, he worked for Dyersburg Fabrics, then for Lincare and as a transport driver for Sayle Oil Company. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as group motorcycle rides around the region with friends.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Greer Holcomb, his son, Ronald Holcomb, Jr., his brother Tab Holcomb, and his step-sisters Hilda Peevyhouse & Marilyn Todd. He loved his time as PawPaw to his grandson, James Case Holcomb. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, David Holcomb and step-sister, Verna Gay.

Mr. Auston Lee "Alton" Mealer, Sr. of Dyersburg, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at West Tennessee Healthcare-Jackson General Hospital. Alton was born July 18, 1940 in Ridgely, TN to the late Albert & Allene Mealer. He worked as a meat cutter and for many years in sales. In his free time, he was an avid dirt-track and NASCAR fan and enjoyed riding motorcycles. In his younger years, he played bass guitar for the band "Billy Ray & The Hurricanes" with his brother.

Auston is survived by his wife, Patsy Ann Shirley Mealer, his sons, Jerry Mealer and Auston Mealer, Jr. & wife, Loretta, his daughter, Sherry Diane Lee & husband, Kenny, his brother, Billy Ray Mealer and sister, Judy Thurmond. He was greatly loved as "Granddaddy & Big-Daddy" by his 6 grandchildren, Kenneth & Andy Lee, Corey, Brandtly, Wesley & Emmery Mealer and numerous great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.

She and her late husband Jerry (9/4/99) were faithful members of First Baptist Church in Dyersburg where she served on staff as an administrative assistant and preschool director for many years. Marys vibrant personality will be missed. Anyone who knew her well welcomed her infectious smile and candid manner of provoking a good laugh.

Estel loved working with his hands and was the ultimate handy man. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

She retired after many years with the Sylvania Co. in Dyersburg. She enjoyed gardening and outdoor activities with her husband, Joe, and was well known for her positive and outgoing personality.

Virginia is survived by her nieces, Joan DiMillio & Sharon Hall and her nephew, Dorman Beard. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe Criswell, her brother, Jack Green and her sisters, Modean Beard, Mary Sue Johnston & Juanita Green.

He earned his Bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee at Martin, where he was also a founding member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Gerald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.Gerald grew up farming with his family and loved to ride horses. He enjoyed boating, skiing, walking the beach and baseball.
