Mrs. Minnie Louise Sudbury Nash, 95, of Friendship, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 at the Bells Nursing Home. Mrs. Nash was a retired homemaker and avid quilter. She was a long-time member of Miller's Chapel Church of Christ in Bonicord.

She is survived by her son, W.C. "Buck" Nash and his wife, Linda, of Friendship and two daughters; Susie Summerlin and her husband, Bill, of Friendship and Lena Gilliland and her husband, William Lee, of Chestnut Bluff; a brother, Larry Sudbury as well as six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren

States Viar passed away on Thursday, August,13th in California. Anyone old enough to remember him would have known him as "Tater" Viar. Born and raised in Lenox, he answered our country's call during World War II and joined the Army Air Corps. He flew as a ball turret gunner in B-24 Liberators, flying out of Africa and southern Italy. States and his crew survived bombing raids over such dangerous targets as the Ploesti, Romania, oil fields. States was married to the late Billie Joyce Dunn of Dyersburg. They were the parents of three daughters, Lynn, Patricia and Lisa as well as three sons, Richard, Craig and Jeffrey. States also leaves behind six grand-children, and four great grandchildren. States was a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where he lettered in baseball. Predeceasing States were sister Marjorie Viar Craft and brothers Walt, Sam and Bobby Joe. Survivors include his sister Sally Viar Thompson and brothers Paul and John. States' ashes will be interred at Fairview Cemetery in a private ceremony on October 9, 2015. He was a former member of the Dyersburg Jaycees, Kiwanis Club, 32 degree Mason Lodge and a volunteer Red Coat at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center for 16 years. He is the son of the late John Hillard and the late Margie Lee Fincher. He was a factory employee serving in the maintenance and quality control departments. Later in life he found much joy as a substitute teacher. He is survived by his wife: Marie Bradford Dillahay, two daughters: Michelle (Rick) Long of Dyersburg, TN, Hope (Jimmy) Clendenin of Halls, TN and two sons: Dwayne (Dee) Dillahay of Evansville, IN, Neal (Suzy) Dillahay of Newbern, TN; Brother of one sister: Tina Fowlkes of Dyersburg, TN and three brothers: Ronnie Ozment of SC, David Ozment of Newbern, TN, Larry Ozment of Dyersburg, TN; He also has two grandchildren, three great- grandchildren. step daughter, Dana Meyers of Denver, CO; step daughter, Amanda Woods of Corpus Christi, TX; step daughter, Misty Zaricor of Tulsa, OK; step son, Timothy Zaricor of Sand Springs, OK; granddaughter, Heidi Caldwell; grandson, Colin Clendenin; great granddaughter, Madison Caldwell; great granddaughter, Mackenzie Caldwell; great grandson, Joseph Levi Clendenin.
